Cultural activities
Capital of Gaul under the Roman Empire, major
culture and trading centre during the Renaissance period, strong
industrial breeding ground in the nineteenth century, Lyons has
become a large European metropolis.
Now included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Lyons is
categorized along with prestigious cities such as Venice,
Prague, or Saint Petersburg.

Institut Lyonnais provides two kinds of activities in
addition to language classes:
Every
month, one or several
visits or trips are organised in Lyons
and its suberbs: museums, historic buildings, exhibitions, etc. The program
of these visits is provided at the beginning of each semester
or before 'Summer University'.
