Institut Lyonnais is an official examination centre where you can pass the TCF (French Language Knowledge Test) which is organised by the CIEP (International Teaching Studies Centre).
 
Institut Lyonnais is an official examination centre under the CCIP (French Chamber of Commerce), Institut Lyonnais provides for students the possibility to pass all sorts of exams: the TEF (French Language Evaluation Test), the Professional French Certificate (in different fields: Legal French, Tourism and Hotel Business, Scientific and Technical French) and Business French Diplomas as DFA1, DFA2 and DAFA.

Programme:
Introduction to the economic and professional life in France, methodological courses, practical exercises and preparation for the CCIP exams and improvement of oral expression, according to the language level reached and the chosen individual courses.
Seminars and individual support to prepare for the DAFA exams of the CCIP.

Certifications:
You can choose to register to obtain either the different diplomas and specialised French certificates, or the CFP (Certificate of Professional French). You can also be in the classes without passing the exams.

The French Language Evaluation Test (TEF).
This test, which has been created and developped by the Chamber of Commerce of Paris, will allow you to test your comprehension and expression skills with a general French language.
Recognized all over the world, it would be useful to you if you aim to apply to a job, to persue studies in higher education or to make your international mobility plan a reality:

• To sudy in France, you absolutely have to make contact with the university or High School in which you want to register so that you will know the tests to be passed: obligatory AND/OR optional parts of the tests.

• E-tef, the electronic version of the TEF, allows you to know the results as soon as you will finish it.
• You don't need to have a diploma to pass the TEF.
• You can pass the TEF several times.
A certificate showing your results is given to you by the approved centre in which you have registered. This document is valid a year from the date you passed the test.

The French Language Knowledge Test (TCF) is to test your language skills. It is linked to the French Ministry of Education.
It tests in a simple and reliable way your linguistic level of the general French language and can be passed by any non-French-speaking public who wants to have their knowledge recognized, and that for professional or personal reasons.
The TCF is a standardized test, made according to an extreme meticulous methodology and which shows one's true worth.
The results ensure a reliable positioning of the candidates on a scale of six levels, modeled on that of the Council of Europe.

Each candidate gets a certificate with the following information on the front:

• The name of the examination centre and the dates of the session
• The name and first name of the candidate
• The candidate code
• Other details about the cadidate such as his birthday, his nationality, his birth country and his mother tongue.
• The candidate's results: total score and level
• The detailed results depending on abilities, score and level
• Possibly, the marks given to the optional examinations (out of 20)

On the back, there are detailed level models, a total and a detailed one, and the score interpretation. The levels show the abilities of the candidate through the expression 'the candidate is able to...'. It is made in this way so that those for whom it is made, i.e. education authorities or employers, can know what the person is able understand and express with the French language.
