COURSES CONTENT

First, evaluate your skill level. It is possible to check according to the following list. Then, when you will arrive in Lyons, we will refine your skill level by giving you a written exam followed by an interview.

You are:

Complete beginner (A0)
If you have no knowledge of the French language. (Be careful: do not consider yourself as a beginner if you have already learned French, even a little)
.
If you haven't started any training in your country (in what is called a 'Centre Culturel', at the Alliance Française or any other school):
• You can either come as an individual and be part of the beginners group opened in October, January, April or July.
• Or you already belong to a group built up by your school or your company. In this case, special courses will be organised for your group.
Elementary (A1 - A2)
If your knowledge of French is limited, incomplete, or out-of-date.
Your oral skills are unsatisfactory. You have a school knowledge of the language, more based on writing skills than oral ones.
You will study fundamental French: elementary grammar, basic vocabulary, highlighting French on a practical and oral level.
Aim: being able to communicate in multiple situations of the daily life.
Intermediate (B1 - B2)
If you studied French recently or you are studying it. You understand fundamental French.
If you studied for:
• At least 400 hours you are 'Moyen 1'
• Betwen 400 and  600 hours, you are 'Moyen 2'
• More than 600 hours, you are 'Moyen 3'.
You will reinforce your oral and writing skills: sysematization of grammar structures, reading and analysing literary and non-literary texts (press, advertisement).
You will also have classes about the French civilization and its main themes.
Advanced (C1 - C2)
If you master the main grammatical structures, while speaking or writing, and know how to use it: your vocabulary is rich, your expression and communication is fluent and easily understandable.
You will improve your writing: techniques of formal writing, textual analysis, translation of articles treating on economic, social, political or cultural issues. Your oral expression will be refined in complex and specialized situations close to social and professional ones.

Choice of training:

If it is your first trip to France: you need a quick refresher course. 4 weeks of intensive courses per month, from theoritical knowledge, you will practice the language, general review of grammar strutures, oral expression, and reading of current texts.
You work or study during the day and you would like:
• You have learned French through daily life and you want to reaffirm and develop the structures.
• To get complementary training which improve you work, especially in writing.
Evening courses, 2h or 4h/week, from October to December, from January to March and from April to June.
If you already have a good level in French, we can organize, on-demand, special private-courses. Thematic training (calender arranged on request)
We provide courses in your field (gastronomy, oenology, tourism...) and meetings with professionals as well.
Courses content
You will arrange your own schedule, submit it to us and we will make you a proposition.
Evaluation
Training Certificate and/or TEF (French Evaluation Test).
